The Pangos All-West camp is the spot to be at annually if one is serious about playing at the next level and getting exposure. National scouts, regional scouts, McDonald’s All-American & NBA Top 100 Camp voter were in attendance to watch the class of 2022/2023.

This past weekend many Norcal prospects more than held their own and  gained great exposure.

Note: These are on players I’ve watched at the Camp.

Jaylen Thompson – 6’7 (2022 SJND) Jaylen had the best weekend out of all the Norcal prospects in attendance. A relatively unknown player coming into the camp. He will be on many college radars after the weekend. At 6’7 with long arms he altered a high rate of shots and has a nose for the ball on the offensive glass. Jaylen was able to push the ball up the court effectively and make the right passes and showed he has a good mid range and 3-point shot.  Jaylen was rewarded with a top 30 game selection and offer from USC for his performance.

JoJo Hunter – 6’4 (2022 San Joaquin Memorial) Jojo was named MVP of the top 30 all-star game. He is the ultimate teammate that makes the right basketball play every time. Something one really see’s in a camp setting. Jojo made it look effortless all weekend making the right passes and knocking down the 3 ball when defenses left him wide open.

Jalen Lewis – 6’7 (2023 Bishop O’Dowd) – The already heralded freshman phenom did not disappoint. A mixture of size, skill, and finesse. Already with a offer from CAL before his first high school. Jalen showed he is a unselfish player than can do play on the wing or post. Jalen was selected for the top 30 game and considered at top 10 overall performer by many scouts. Expect Jalen to have a big freshman season at Bishop O’Dowd.

Jordan Pope – 6’0 ( 2022 Prolific Prep) – The sharpshooter started the camp off HOT going 8-9 from the field  in his first game of the day. Pope showed off his elite 3 point shot all weekend but also showed that he can create for others as well.  Pope earned top 30 game selection for the camp.

Yaqub Mir – 5’11 ( 2023 Granite Bay) – This freshman guard has a quick first step and got by his defenders all weekend using either hand to finish at the rim. Which set up his nice pull up jump shot when his defender would back off. Yaqub was selected for the next 30 game.

AJ Johnson – 5’11 (2023 San Joaquin Memorial) The prince of Fresno has a lot of wiggle in his dribble getting to the rim this past weekend. Once his body starts filling out AJ will be a BIG PROBLEM. AJ was selected for the next 30 game.

Trey Knight – 5’11 (2022 Moreau Catholic) – Trey has gotten quicker from his freshman who has a nose for attacking the rim. He is a player that looks to facilitate for his teammates first. Trey will have a BIG jump in production his sophomore season at Moreau Catholic. Trey was selected for the next 30 game.

Luca Davis – 6’2 (2022 Sacramento) – A hard nose defender that plays at 110% at all times. He was in the passing lanes all weekend and offensive boards. The lefty is improving his ball handling and will be a glue guy for Sacramento.

Jordan Aquino – 5’10 (2022 Lincoln SF) – A pass first point guard made a nice duo with Jackson Kholer from LV. They connected on multiple pick and rolls and found Jackson multiple times for easy baskets.
