COVID-19 has changed the way we move with our everyday life. Due to COVID-19, your traditional AAU season was canceled. For the most part, many student-athletes lost opportunities to play in front of college coaches.

While the traditional AAU schedule was changed there was still basketball being played. Here are the biggest stock risers during the Quarantine Hoops Season.

Tyler Harris (2023 Newark Memorial) – Burst onto the scene during some private runs where he showcased his 6’7″ frame and versatility. Quickly, after posting his highlight film from the runs, Tyler picked up an offer from Eastern Washington & Cal Poly and started hearing from many high major colleges. He has been invited to numerous national camps and earned top 11 honors at the prestigious Pangos Fresh/Soph Camp in September. Tyler is now one of the hottest recruits in NorCal regardless of his class.

Broyce Batchan Jr. (2022 De Anza) – An explosive point guard with ALL the tools of being a division one point guard. Broyce broke onto the scene in the same private runs that Tyler was attending.  Broyce stood out quickly with his high flyer dunks and his ability to put the ball in the basket at all three levels. Many people and coaches have heard good things about Broyce. He was able to pick up his first offer from Portland St. after we introduce him to the social media world!

Jaylen Thompson (2022 Southern California Academy) Recently transferred to Southern California Academy (SCA) to play on the grind session and prepare for his college career. Jaylen recently played in the Great Western Showcase in Utah and had a great showing. Jaylen seems to have new confidence in his game and looks to be a go-to guy for the team. Since transferring to SCA. Jaylen has picked up offers from LSU, Alabama, Arizona and was invited to the McDonalds All-American Camp.

King-Jshanni Wilhite (2023 Riordan) – Picked up his first Pac-12 offer from Washington St. this quarantine season. While not playing much during the quarantine season, King played in a few games the day before his offer from WSU where he scored multiple 40 pt games in a local tournament. Now at Riordan HS, all eyes on the super sophomore as he joins one of the best teams in Northern California.

Courtney Anderson (2023 Dublin) – Another star sophomore that picked up an offer from Pac-12 Washington St. An absolute bucket from all three levels on the court. Courtney had a quiet freshman season at Salesian High School, but he is now at Dublin High School and should make an immediate impact. Courtney made a few appearances this quarantine season and earned top 5 honors at the prestigious Pangos All-West camp.

Robert Vaihola (2021 Riordan)  – There was no stop for Robert, one of the top unsigned seniors in NorCal, doing this quarantined season! He has played in many local and out of state events showcasing his versatile skillsets as a post player.  At 6’8 he can play with his back to the basket or face-up and shoot the three-ball consistently.  An overlooked skill is his love for rebounding on the offensive and defensive glass. He will make a D-1 program happy very soon.

Takai Emerson-Hardy (2022 Vanden) – Stock has been on the rise this past month performing well with West Coast Elite Norcal in Arizona and Utah.  Takai recently picked up offers from Montana, Montana State, and Cal Poly this past month. Takai is very athletic at 6’7, runs the floor like a gazelle, and finishes above the rim with ease. He is an underrated shooter with a very nice touch and improving his ball-handling skills. Expect some high major schools to come into the picture soon.

Ron Jones Jr. (2022 Oakland Tech) – At 6’7 Ron’s game is gritty and fearless. He is not afraid of contact and has a nose for the ball. While playing consistently at the Oakland runs Ron continued to develop his skills. Through his hard work and dedication, Ron made a name for himself earning top 15 honors at Pangos All-West Camp. Expect to see many D-1 programs come into the picture soon.
