Here are the spotlights and take aways from the Holiday Tournaments from Dec 27-30 for Norcal teams from Modesto, Torrey Pines, and La Verne, CA.

Torrey Pines Take Aways (Tournament we attended) 

Dougherty Valley
takes 3rd place at Torrey Pines with impressive wins overs O'Dea, San Ysirdo, and Eastside Catholic. and a close loss  to St. Augustine who is the top team in SD.  Ryan Beasley stole the show in San Diego and became a fan favorite scoring 114 total points and earning All-Tournament Honors. Connor Sevilla averaged 22pts per game at Torrey Pines and making a case for Beasley & Sevilla as the top backcourt in Norcal.  Blake Hudson was a MONSTER on the boards and around the rim for the Wildcats. The continue development and production from Landon Edmond, Aadi Malali, and Chris Fallgren will take this team deep into March.  DV is now 13-1 this season. 



De la Salle took home 5th place going 3-1 at the prestigious Holiday Classic. The team is tough as nails with wins over Coronado (NV), J Serra, St. Johns Bosco. Alec Blair was named all tournament, with other great production from Billy Haggarty and Evan Wells. Billy brings versatility to the Spartans with his ability to create from the mid-post and push the ball from rebounds. Evan Wells was knock down from 3pt range all weekend and took on the task of defending each teams best player.  


Archbishop Mitty goes 2-2 in SD with tough loss to J Serra after arriving in SD at 2am the day of the game. Followed up with a tough loss to Centennial (AZ) the following early morning game. The Monarchs were without  Derek Sangster expected to be back for WCAL play. Mitty earned wins over Monterey Trail and host Torrey Pines. Gavin Ripp was steady all week with an 30pt performance vs Monterey Trail. 

Monterey Trail goes 1-3 in National Division 
Bishop O'Dowd goes 1-3 in National Division 
Oakland Tech goes 2-2 in American Division 
Granite Bay goes 1-3 in American Division 
Clayton Valley goes 3-1 in American Divison
Monte Vista goes 3-1 in Governors Division reaching Championship  
Alcalanes goes 2-2 in Governors Division
Oak Ridge goes 2-2 in Governors Division 
 
Damien Classic Take Aways 


Salesian
goes 1-4 in the platinum division while the W-L doesn't show the success, the Pride took Notre Dame to the final minute with multiple shots to take the lead.  Aaron Claytor earned All-tournament honors and Salesian next challenge will be Jan 21st vs Corona Centennial. 

Inderkum earns consolation championship going 3-1 with big wins over St. Benards and Owhyee. Jermaine Haliburton earned All-Tournament Honors. 

San Ramon Valley
wins Gold division Championship with wins over Ironwood (AZ), Roosevelt, and Redondo Union. Luke Isaak earned MVP honors with game winning 3pt with 3 seconds left in Championship game. Seamus Deely also earned All-Tournament Honors. 

Jesuit
goes 2-2 in Gold Division with a loss in the semi-finals game vs Ironwood (AZ). Jesuit was without Andrej Stojakovic due to injury and saw Cole Eppers step up in production in Andrej injury.

Dublin Goes 1-3 in Platinum Division
